Each Wednesday there is a short service of Holy Communion starting at 10:30am.
On Sundays we hold two services: at 10:30am and 6:00pm.
Plumtree church is open to visitors every Wednesday and Saturday between 10:00 am and 12:00 am.
We'll be delighted to see you, and if the kettle isn't on it soon will be. Please be sure to leave a comment in our Visitor's Book.
Plumtree Welcome Café
Plumtree Welcome Café is held in St Mary's Church, Plumtree every Thursday between 2pm and 4pm. It’s staffed by volunteers who aim to provide a venue where people can meet up at informal weekly gatherings for company and conversation.
It isn’t a club, there's no membership and it's open to everyone, no matter what your circumstances. What's more, it's free and we provide refreshments including, sometimes, home-made cake.
The Café is a community initiative that just happens to meet in a church — so you don’t need to be a church member (of any church) to visit us.
We cater for all age groups: from pushchairs to wheelchairs and everything in between. Also well-behaved pets are welcome (with their owners, of course, well-behaved or otherwise).
You can stay for the full two hours, or only drop in for a few minutes. You can visit every week, or just when you feel like it.
Why not come along to see what it's all about?
Plumtree Welcome Café is part of the national Places of Welcome network - placesofwelcome.org.uk - a growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where everyone can join in, connect and contribute.
To find out more about Plumtree Welcome Café, or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Fiona Carruthers - 0115 937 7337. Or just come along to the café, you'll be made very welcome.
