Church Hill Area – Parking Restrictions and Traffic Management
From 12.30pm on Sunday 8th February, there will be no parking on Church Hill between the School and the start of the ‘D’ pull-in outside the Old Rectory. Cars may park in the D, but must not block access to the house.
The works are expected to continue until 23rd February, although they may take longer. Temporary traffic lights will be in place from lunchtime on 8th February and will move as work progresses up the hill. At no point will traffic lights be in operation along the whole of Church Hill.
From Monday 2nd March, works will continue past the Church and down towards the Nursery. Traffic lights and parking restrictions on this stretch are expected to last for around seven days.
Work will also take place on Church Lane during the week commencing 23rd February. Parking restrictions on a short section of Church Hill — likely from the D to Church Lane — will remain in place until work at the back of the Church is completed, to allow traffic lights to be positioned safely.
Some parking will be made available on 19th February to accommodate those attending the funeral in Church and the following wake at Burnside Hall. All work will stop whilst the funeral is taking place.
We appreciate this will be inconvenient, but the work is important and needs to be carried out.
