Prayer for the nation
Added on 01 February 2021
COVID-19 has caused much suffering and sadness, with more than two million lives lost worldwide.
In response to reaching the terrible milestone of 100,000 deaths in the UK from COVID-19,
the Archbishops invite all to call on God in Prayer.

'100,000 isn’t just an abstract figure.
Each number is a person: someone we loved and someone who loved us.'
Archbishop Justin Welby

Starting on 1 February we invite you to set aside time every evening to pray, particularly at 6pm each day.
More than ever, this is a time when we need to love each other.
Prayer is an expression of love.

Every day, let's pause and pray at 6pm for those impacted by the pandemic.
You can set an alarm, light a candle or use a light on your mobile phone as a prompt to pray,
or hearing the St Mary's Plumtree church clock strike 6.00pm may act as a reminder.

You can find an easy to use, printable prayer booklet here, to help you as you pray over the next 4 weeks
